The founders of CorpNet.com are veterans in the online legal document filing industry, having started their first business in the same space in 1997, which later sold to Intuit in 2005. The industry now is much different than when they first started. Today there are several competitors leading this space including LegalZoom, RocketLawyer and others. However, there is plentiful business opportunities for all. CorpNet has prided itself on being a small business, with a small team dedicated to setting the bar in providing concierge-based services which are dedicated and personalized. So, they found their niche by separating themselves from their more corporate competitors by showcasing that tight-knit team that goes above and beyond for their clients.
Company Birth Story
CorpNet was started in 2009 in the garage of founders, Philip and Nellie Akalp, an attorney husband and wife team, who have been coined “pioneers of the online legal document filing industry”. That year was the height of the last recession, and the industry was in a much different place than with their first business. However, Nellie and Phil were dedicated to the company and today, CorpNet is thriving as one of the industry leaders!
The Solution
The ultimate goal for CorpNet is to streamline the business formation and compliance process for entrepreneurs. A few years back the team launched a partner program for professionals, which now is a large part of their business. Unlike many competitors who focus mainly on consumers needing to form LLCs for their own business, CorpNet has shifted to catering to professionals who need help setting up many entities frequently for their own clients. CorpNet’s partner program has contributed to their tremendous growth the last few years - having been recognized many times on the Inc.5000 list of fastest- growing privately-held companies in America.
