Company Birth Story
Troomi was born from a personal need. Our founders, frustrated by the lack of effective and user-friendly tools to keep their children safe online, decided to create a solution themselves. To provide a technology environment in which kids can thrive, they spent a year developing KidSmart OS®, an Android-based operating system that empowers parents with an extremely easy, powerful and flexible set of parental controls—all while eliminating social media, harmful games, pornography and incoming access for predators and bullies. Troomi is a family-owned company driven by a deep understanding of the challenges parents face and a commitment to fostering healthy technology habits in children.

Troomi recently welcomed Dr. Jean Twenge to its advisory board.  Dr. Twenge is a renowned researcher, professor of psychology at San Diego State University and author of the influential book iGen: Why Today’s Super-Connected Kids Are Growing Up Less Rebellious, More Tolerant, Less Happy–and Completely Unprepared for Adulthood.
