The idea for Matik was born from a frequent business problem that CEO Nikola Mijic witnessed firsthand. Before starting Matik, he was a program manager at LinkedIn, where he saw how much time companies were wasting on what he calls the "last-mile" problem of data storytelling. Teams were manually pulling data from multiple sources to create repetitive, data-heavy presentations for clients. This tedious process was not only inefficient but also a breeding ground for inaccuracies. Seeing this opportunity, Mijic, along with co-founder Zak Stein, decided to build a solution to connect these disparate data sources and automate the creation of polished, data-backed content.
