Rewind Your Brain Age: Thinkie Achieves 3.7-Year Reduction in Just 3 Months

What the company does

Thinkie is a scientifically proven brain training device-app combination that provides real-time visual and long-term guidance for improving cognitive health. Developed by neuroscientists over 3 decades, our research shows that 3 months’ consistent use can reduce brain age by 3.7 years on average.

The Current Landscape

The current brain training environment is vibrant and growing fast, with popular apps like Lumosity, Elevate, and Peak offering games and exercises designed to enhance cognitive skills. Like Thinkie, these apps utilize principles of neuroplasticity to improve memory, attention, and problem-solving abilities. Also similar to Thinkie, wearable devices like NeuroNation and BrainTap provide personalized training programs that adapt to users' progress, making brain training more effective and engaging.

The brain training industry as a whole is experiencing significant growth. The global cognitive assessment and training market was valued at approximately $5.35 billion in 2022 and is projected to reach around $54.04 billion by 2031, expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 29.3%. This growth is driven by increasing awareness of cognitive health and the benefits of brain training as well as the success of market incumbents.

Company Birth Story

Thinkie’s origin begins with its founder, Kota Ageiwa, and his relationship with his grandfather, who had dementia.

Mr Ageiwa’s grandfather, who worked as a farmer for about 70 years while serving in the military, was always kind and active grandfather who often played with him. However, in his later years, Mr Ageiwa’s grandfather’s cognitive function declined and he thus entered a care facility. It was there that he became aware of the changes in himself from "a little forgetfulness" to "I can't really remember," impressing upon young Mr Ageiwa how sad he looked. At was at this point that he realized that people do not suddenly lose track of everything just because they have dementia, but rather they spend their time with self- awareness of the process of cognitive decline, causing sadness and pain in the process.

The functions of the human brain, such as memory, emotion, and reason, are essential parts that form a person, like the very reason for existence. In memory of his late grandfather, Mr Ageiwa seeks to create a solution supporting those who care about their brain health and wish to take the initiative in its preservation.

The Solution

The Thinkie system is a scientifically proven brain training device-app combination that provides real-time neurofeedback and quantitative measurement of long-term brain health through a series of cognitive tests and brain training activities. Here's how it works:

1. Initial Brain Age Score: When users first start using Thinkie, they obtain a baseline Brain Age score. This score is derived from cognitive tests that measure various aspects of brain function, such as cognitive speed, working memory, and executive function.

2. Regular Brain Age Check: Users are encouraged to perform a Brain Age Check once a month. This involves repeating the cognitive tests to track changes in their brain's cognitive function over time. By comparing these monthly scores to the initial baseline, Thinkie can calculate improvements or declines in brain age.

3. Brain Training Activities: Thinkie includes a variety of brain games designed by neuroscientists to stimulate different cognitive functions. These games are structured to increase in difficulty as users improve, ensuring continuous cognitive engagement. The system tracks users' performance in these games, providing data on their cognitive progress.

4. Data Analysis: Thinkie analyzes data from users' performance in brain games and cognitive tests to identify trends and patterns. For example, consistent use of Thinkie has been shown to reduce brain age significantly over time. Users who engage with the system regularly can see reductions in brain age by several years, with some experiencing decades of reduction given consistent use.

5. Feedback and Adjustment: Based on the data collected, Thinkie provides personalized feedback and adjusts the difficulty of brain games to match users' cognitive abilities. This ensures that users are always challenged appropriately, maximizing the benefits of their brain training. The Thinkie system is unlike any other brain training regimen on the market today. By combining these elements, the Thinkie system offers a comprehensive and quantitative approach to monitoring and improving long-term brain health.
