What is Vampr?
Vampr is the number one social-professional talent marketplace helping creatives and artists connect with collaborators, create new music, and monetize their work. Users are able to find other musicians and music industry professionals around the world, allowing them to build their personal networks and create valuable relationships. Vampr provides DIY musicians with a wide range of valuable resources to launch their careers, and since the platform’s launch in 2016, it has created 7 million connections for over one million users in 190 countries.
Most recently, Vampr launched free digital music distribution for all users. Unlike other distribution platforms, Vampr’s program comes with no upfront or hidden fees. Regular Vampr users are able to send their music to Spotify, Apple, Amazon, Deezer, and all leading DSPs for free while keeping 80% of their royalties. Vampr Pro members will enjoy the same service, but will instead keep 100% of their royalties.
The creation of Vampr
Vampr was founded in 2016 by Australia’s The Music Network’s 30 Under 30 Power Player, Josh Simons, and multi-platinum songwriter/guitarist and tech entrepreneur, Baz Palmer. The app is experiencing groundbreaking success in its current equity crowdfunding campaign with WeFunder. With over $600,000 raised and 2,500 investors gained to date, Vampr continues to be one of the hottest trending campaigns on the WeFunder platform. The current round will be closing in early 2022, with a maximum offering of $4 million. The company plans to use new funds to scale the business ahead of an anticipated Series A round in the next 18 months.
The goal of the company
The platform’s dedication to innovation is evident, as this year also brought the launch of Vampr Publishing and Vampr Pro, which allow the company to represent over 50,000 songs for sync opportunities and provide artists with all of their essential services on one user-friendly platform. More new features from the company include the recent addition of spatial audio tools, alongside mastering and minting your own NFTs through third party companies.
Since the Vampr’s inception, its global community of musicians and creatives have come together to:
Create more than 220,000 original songs with people they have met on Vampr
Enjoy a combined 62.5 billion streams on Spotify, Apple Music, TikTok, and SoundCloud
Generate significant royalties of $162 million flowing directly into their pockets
Vampr's success
The success generated from Vampr’s community is overwhelmingly evident. American rapper Rae Khalil is a prime example; the platform allowed her to meet producer and collaborator Jared Rubens, with whom she created a long lasting friendship and career altering partnership. Since connecting with Rubens through Vampr in 2018 she has gone on to appear on the Netflix show Rhythm + Flow, jam with Anderson Paak and Chance the Rapper, and have her own NPR Tiny Desk concert.
Vampr has been recognized with over 10 awards from various industry leaders, including being named in Apple’s Best of Year and winning the SF MusicTech Summit. The company was recently nominated for a Music Week 2021 Award for Music Consumer Innovation alongside TikTok, Spotify, and Amazon Music.
Vampr has previously raised $2.6 million from music industry executives, VCs, angel investors, and two prior rounds of equity crowdfunding.
