Judy Security: Bridging the Cybersecurity Gap for Small to Medium-Sized Businesses(SMBs) with AI

What Judy Security does

Judy Security offers a comprehensive, all-in-one cybersecurity platform, underpinned by artificial intelligence and automation, and purpose built for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

The Current Landscape

There are approximately 3,400-point products that are not designed for small and medium- sized businesses (SMB) customers or partners who they leverage for IT services. Many companies treat this space as a revenue stream with watered down products, long service level agreements (SLAs) for help or the thought that a SMB will string together seven different products or hire a large staff to maintain, monitor and update each product daily. This is where Judy Security comes in. Judy’s artificial intelligence (AI) solves these problems with an all-in-one solution that takes minutes to install and saves SMBs and the Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) that support them time and money.

In contrast to many competitors that primarily serve larger enterprises with costly solutions, Judy Security is committed to delivering enterprise-grade protection at a price point that's accessible to SMBs, addressing a critical pain point in the market. Moreover, Judy Security leverages AI and automation to enhance cybersecurity efficacy. This minimizes the demand for extensive in-house cybersecurity expertise, making Judy Security an attractive choice for SMBs with limited resources.

Company Birth Story

Judy Security was the vision of its founder and CEO, Raffaele Mautone. Raffaele's tech career began at Dell in Austin, Texas but he sought new challenges. In a pivotal move, he transitioned to Dallas, Texas and, determined to make a mark in the industry, pursued a role at Network Associates, where he began selling cybersecurity solutions, notably McAfee.

Raffaele's journey in cybersecurity included key positions at major industry players such as McAfee, FireEye and Duo. Through his extensive experience, he observed that cybersecurity choices for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) were limited to either simplified corporate tools or overly expensive ones, leaving many vulnerable. Large enterprises had access to comprehensive solutions and services, but SMBs struggled to secure their digital assets effectively, often relying on fragmented, inadequate tools.

Driven by this insight and a desire to address this pressing need, Raffaele founded AaDya Security in 2019 utilizing a mix of personal funds, angel investors, and venture capital. The company was on a mission to make cybersecurity accessible and affordable for SMBs.

The platform was developed by engaging with 13 managed security services companies, helping to understand their specific challenges, leading to the creation of "Judy," an AI and machine learning engine powering the platform. The company officially rebranded to Judy Security in 2023.

The Solution

Judy Security’s comprehensive, all-in-one cybersecurity platform, underpinned by artificial intelligence and automation, includes the following enterprise grade cybersecurity capabilities, at a price SMBs can afford (only $14/month):

Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR): Judy Security's platform offers EDR capabilities to detect and respond to threats on endpoints, helping to protect devices and systems from cyberattacks.

● DNS Filtering: DNS filtering services to enhance web security by blocking malicious websites and preventing users from accessing potentially harmful content.

● Password Manager: Judy includes a password manager to help users securely manage their passwords, reducing the risk of credential-based attacks.

● Judy’s Blue Team Cloud SIEM + XDR: This feature combines Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and Extended Detection and Response (XDR) capabilities to provide advanced threat detection and response.

● Automated Compliance Management and Reporting: Judy Security's platform automates compliance management tasks, ensuring that businesses adhere to relevant regulations and standards. It also generates reports to demonstrate compliance.

● Secure Authentication: Judy offers secure authentication solutions to protect user access, including multi-factor authentication (MFA) and single sign-on (SSO) capabilities.

● Security Awareness Training: Judy provides security awareness training to educate employees and users about cybersecurity best practices, reducing the risk of social engineering attacks.

The major differentiator for Judy Security’s platform is that it combines everything that an SMB needs for security into one platform that is not only effective at protection but provides tools that can help end users work more safely and efficiently. It’s not heavy or cumbersome like traditional cybersecurity, it’s cybersecurity that doesn’t feel like cybersecurity.

A Customer Story

One example is a midsize law firm that Judy Security has been working with for about a year. Judy was able to empower their one-person IT department to keep their most sensitive customer, employee and company data secure without the need to manage multiple-point products. The all-in-one platform also provided them with a framework to quickly and easily meet critical compliance requirements.

Another great example and one of Judy Security’s earliest adopters is an established executive coaching and consulting firm. Judy helped them with security concerns related to a distributed workforce of contract employees using company email in a BYOD (bring your own device) environment. They now have peace of mind that their customer data and their critical business platforms are protected 24/7 for a fraction of the cost of leveraging external security services offered through their current provider.

One of Judy Security’s most technically mature customers, a midsized apparel manufacturer, originally came to the company because they were in the market for both 2FA (two-factor authentication) and EDR. They were excited by Judy Security’s consolidated approach to security which also included a password manager and DNS filtering. Implementing Judy to the entire team gave them instant protection to secure their entire operation quickly and easily.

Judy Security also worked with one of the company’s channel partners that specializes in working with franchise owners/operators, who leverages Judy as part of their full suite of IT and telecom service offerings. They loved the simplicity and power of Judy Security’s

A founder quote

GSD (Get stuff done!) I love having a long list or complex project and just getting it done with the cross-functional team. I’ve said this now at three companies and it still holds true today. The minute a few of us can put a checkmark mark next to that item on our list is the biggest reward for all of us. – Raffaele Mautone, CEO, Judy Security
