What Zoe does

The free Zoe platform enables anyone, regardless of their technical know- how, to create immersive 3D environments for collaboration, entertainment, learning and more. Currently available on Meta Quest VR headsets, and then later on mobile, Zoe teaches 21st Century skills to empower a new generation of metaverse builders and creators.

Zoe's Current Landscape

User experience and costs are often cited as the greatest obstacles to VR and AR adoption in a market that is expected to be worth over $5T by 2025. Zoe removes the barriers to entry and provides anyone with the means, methods, built-in templates, and tools to create, teach and innovate from anywhere and with anyone.

Zoe Birth Story

In 2012, co-founders Emilie Joly, Sylvain Joly and Maria Beltran, created a 360-degree interactive animated series for mobile. After that project’s success, in 2014 the team founded Apelab, a start-up in the field of interaction design. The founders wanted to take no-code tools ever farther and were inspired to democratize content creation, allowing as many people as possible to become creators with immersive technologies. This is when Apelab evolved into Zoe Immersive.

The Solution

To ensure that anyone can be part of this digital revolution, the Zoe platform features no- code, drag-and-drop tools making it extremely simple for non-technical users to create and host interactive sessions on any topic or in any language. Zoe wanted to make the product usable for everyone so it designed built-in templates that provide a jumping off point for educators, creators, business users and others to immediately start creating with no ramp up time. And the platform features real-time collaboration and immediate playback allowing users to develop and change ideas on the fly.

With Zoe users are learning 21 st Century skills such as design, creating user interfaces, programming, and working with movement and space, preparing generations for the future of work. Not only do users gain skills but the Zoe platform will also allow for creators to monetize their learning content through marketplace opportunities.

With its flexibility Zoe can be used in a number of industries including:

● Business – Collaboration, team building, employee projects, soft skills training

● Education – STEM activities, storytelling, process explanations,

● Marketing/Entertainment – Branded experiences, online events, adventure games

● Healthcare – Mindful/meditation experiences, mini-games for therapy and

disabilities

A Customer Story

Early versions of the Zoe beta were tested with universities and schools, and more than 2700 educational institutions have used Zoe either on their own or with their students. The global mobile learning market is expected to grow from $42.16 billion in 2021 to $54.36 billion in 2022, and school systems need tools that are easy to use and easy to integrate into the classroom. Zoe meets this need by allowing students to learn digital skills while also learning valuable planning skills, project management, critical thinking and problem-solving.

Zoe is committed to making its software available to underrepresented communities through its Impact program and affordable plans. Earlier this year, Zoe and the West Allis- West Milwaukee School District were awarded a $100K grant from Unity’s Charitable Fund, a fund of Tides Foundation. This grant allowed for the deployment of Zoe metaverse learning programs to support over 300 educators and students in the Title I school district.

Teachers who participated in the program told Zoe that this platform enables them to engage so much more with their students. It also gives them more flexibility and creativity in their school projects. The educators are rolling out student programs this school year.

A founder quote

“In just minutes, Zoe gives anyone the ability to create and monetize truly interactive experiences and activities,” said Emilie Joly, co-founder and CEO of Zoe Immersive. “We are making 3D content creation accessible to anyone to create virtual social experiences for teambuilding or collaboration, to solve problems, or for the telling of stories, sharing ideas, creating games, and much more. With Zoe, there are truly no limits to 3D innovation.”
