Sartoro: Reasonably Priced Luxury Bespoke Suits – All Online

What Sartoro does

Sartoro brings the bespoke suit experience online, providing easy, convenient, and affordable access to high-quality custom clothing without the traditional hassle of time-consuming in-store fittings.

The Current Landscape

The online custom menswear industry features notable players such as Indochino and SuitSupply, which hold significant market share. Sartoro also competes indirectly with mainstream in-store brands like Brooks Brothers and Men’s Wearhouse, offering ready-to-wear options, alongside rental services targeting budget-conscious customers. The market includes a mix of custom suits, off-the-rack styles, and various pricing tiers. Sartoro differentiates itself by making the bespoke suit experience accessible online, utilizing a cutting-edge visual suit configurator and an exclusive “Digital Tailor” system. This innovative tool builds a custom fit profile in just 60 seconds—no measuring tape needed. By leveraging modern technology and selecting high-quality off-brand fabrics over expensive designer labels, Sartoro achieves the same craftsmanship as higher-priced competitors at a more affordable price. The two-minute fitting process and interactive 3D suit designer ensure customers receive the perfect style and fit. With fast shipping in as little as seven days, Sartoro blends quality and convenience for today’s modern man.

Company Birth Story

After graduating from Bucknell University in 2011, Andy Fine, founder of Sartoro, began his career in finance at Goldman Sachs in New York City. A couple of years later, an entrepreneurial spirit emerged, leading to a bold decision in 2017 to explore the world with a one-way ticket across the Pacific. Over the next three years, Andy lived across five continents and 14 countries, managing a consulting business along the way. During this time, he launched a low-budget custom suit brand. Although it grew quickly, the quality did not meet his standards. Rather than settling for less, Andy booked a ticket to Vietnam in early 2020 to establish higher-quality manufacturing and build the 2.0 version of that initial brand—Sartoro. This venture has been a passionate pursuit ever since.

The Solution

At the heart of Sartoro's innovation is a commitment to bringing the bespoke tailoring experience online, ensuring accessibility and seamlessness for customers, particularly wedding parties and groups. While eager to explore new technologies, Sartoro focuses on those that enhance product quality and elevate the customer journey. Each new feature undergoes internal testing before a staged release, ensuring it adds real value. This approach balances cutting-edge advancements with Sartoro's promise of delivering premium custom suits at competitive prices, all within a fantastic customer experience.

A Customer Story

“Sartoro really is a great place to get custom-made suits. My experience working with them over the past eight months has been wonderful. I purchased three suits, and the entire process has always been fantastic. Initially, there was an issue with the second suit, but that is where the customer service truly shined. Even if an issue arises, there's no need to stress; it will be swiftly corrected. All their suits are prepared with enough fabric for future alterations, accommodating weight changes. They provide a card detailing the exact amounts each item can be adjusted. Overall, I'm very thankful I found Sartoro when I was in desperate need of new suits.” - Harrison

The Team Culture

Sartoro fosters a mindset of curiosity and continuous learning within the team. Employees are encouraged to explore new ideas, experiment with technologies, and challenge the status quo. Regular workshops and brainstorming sessions promote fresh perspectives, while an open feedback loop with customers drives the next wave of innovation. By cultivating a collaborative environment and rewarding experimentation, Sartoro creates a space where innovation is not just encouraged but is a core part of the company's DNA.

A founder quote

“Focus less on perfection and more on steady, incremental improvement. Test ideas and don’t be afraid to fail. The Sartoro of today is vastly different from just a few years ago. The company launched with a minimum viable operation, building new features, functionality, and capabilities as data analysis revealed emerging needs. Predicting the market is challenging, so bootstrapped companies should prioritize building small, testing hypotheses, gathering feedback, and continuously iterating rather than investing heavily before confirming assumptions with conclusive data. This approach is essential for launching a company on a bootstrapped budget and competing effectively in the market.”
